ABC News reported:
Melbourne’s new Royal Children’s Hospital will officially open on the same day Queen Elizabeth II is due to visit the city.
The $1 billion hospital will open on October 26.
The Queen and Prince Philip are scheduled to make a quick stop in Melbourne that day, before travelling to Perth to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) meeting.
The hospital’s chairman, Tony Beddison, says it is an exciting time for the hospital’s patients and their families.
“That’s an official opening in less than three weeks, so we’re really at an exciting stage of this development,” he said.
“The children will be moved in about a month after that on the 28th of November.”
